Essential Needs: What We Require from You
Before we begin assisting you, we need certain essential documents and information. Please review the following requirements carefully.
Passport Application
Things to note
Please ensure you have read and understood the guidelines and requirements both on www.ecitizen.go.ke and those listed below before submitting your application.
Applications for passports are accepted between 9.30hrs-13.00 hrs. (Monday – Friday) by Appointment only.
New passports or replacement of passports are applied through e-citizen portal (www.ecitizen.go.ke) You will require to download and print out the form at the end, sign, date the form and attach the required documents. Thereafter make an appointment through Kenya High Commission website (www.kenyahighcom.org.uk) and submit your documents in person at the High Commission for biometric capture.
Passport fees
- 32 pages Ordinary “A” series – Ksh. 4,550
- 48 pages Ordinary “B” series – Ksh. 6,050
- 64 pages Ordinary “C” series – Ksh. 7,550
- 48 pages Diplomatic Passport – Ksh. 7,550
Dual Citizen
Things to Note:
An application to declare dual citizenship can be submitted concurrently with a passport application.
Those who acquired citizenship of another country after 27th August, 2010 are eligible for dual citizenship
Those who have regained Kenya citizenship are eligible for dual citizenship.
Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be rejected.
Applicants are advised to submit completed applications STRICTLY ONLY via POSTAL SERVICES
Requirements to make a declaration as a dual citizen.
- Two dully filled application Form.
- The form needs to be signed and stamped by solicitor/ commissioner of oaths.
- Two passport size photographs
Replace a Birth / Death Certificate
Things to note
As a measure to support the containment of the spread of Covid-19, applicants are advised to submit completed applications STRICTLY ONLY via POSTAL SERVICES.
(Appointments for Passports & ID’s only)
Provide your full name and postal address, telephone number and emails on the application forms before sending your application by post to facilitate dispatch of processed documents.
Note that it shall be the responsibility of clients to immediately notify us in writing via immigration@kenyahighcom.org.uk of any changes to their postal address to avoid inconveniences in delivery of services.

Kenyan National ID
Things to note
- Each applicant must appear in person at the High Commission for biometrics capture.
- Form Reg. 136C (click to download) MUST be dully filled before coming to the High Commission.
- Married ladies who wish to change their names, both husband and wife must be present at the time of application submission.
- Applicants are required to bring two (2) passport size photographs recently taken on a white background.
- Holders of first-generation identity cards (the big size) are considered first time applicants.
- Payment by Card or Postal order of UK £30.00 payable to Kenya High Commission.
- Application submission is strictly by appointment only.
- Processing of IDs takes approximately eight weeks.
Collection of IDs is strictly only via postal services.
As a measure in support of the containment of the spread of Covid-19, applicants are advised to provide at the time of application, a secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with pre-paid postage stamps for the dispatch of their critical documents. The envelope should have sufficient return postage and clearly indicates full names and postcode of the applicant.
Regain Kenyan Citizenship
Things to Note:
An application for a passport cannot be submitted concurrently with an application to Regain Kenya citizenship.
Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be rejected.
Applicants are advised to submit completed applications STRICTLY ONLY via POSTAL SERVICES

- Two copies of Naturalization Certificate
- Two copies of applicant’s Kenyan Passport
Requirements to apply to Renunciate Kenyan Citizenship
- Two passport size photographs
- Original and Two copies of applicant’s Kenyan passport
- Original and Two copies of applicant’s Kenyan ID
- Two Copies of Birth Certificate
- Two Copies of Naturalization Certificate
